ASK DAVE QUESTIONS

QUESTION:
Where do you recommend placing secure document containers? Will I receive a discount if I purchase multiple units?

ANSWER:
Document containers are a great alternative to placing shredders near every desk in a business. Document containers should be placed next to every department in an office environment. This makes discarding sensitive material easy and quick. You don't want to give employees an excuse to throw sensitive information into a garbage can. Once a secure document container is full, the paper can later be carted off to an industrial shredder for disposal.

We do offer discounts on multiple units. The discount depends on how many secure document containers you purchase. I recommend calling (800-658-8788) or e-mailing (info@abcoffice.com) one of our customer service representatives to get an official quote and pricing.

QUESTION:
I think you may have covered this before, but what is the difference between 75 and 100-gauge shink wrap film?

ANSWER:
The biggest difference is how thick the film is. Seventy-five-gauge film is thinner than 100-gauge film. Most people use 75-gauge film as it is typically less of an investment and works for most packaging needs. The 100-gauge film is particularly nice when shrink-wrapping multiple products together. The thicker film is more durable when holding products together, such as DVDs, video tapes and more. Film is available even thicker than 100 gauge, but is a special order.

Shrink wrap film is available in PVC and Polyolefin format. PVC film is more common and has been used for years. It tends to be a little more brittle than Polyolefin film. PVC film cannot be used with food.

Polyolefin film is more stretchy and does not tear as easily as PVC film. It can be used with food and doesn't give of as much of an odor when being shrunk down.

QUESTION:
I’m looking for a good coil-binding machine. I would prefer to have a machine that includes an inserter. The CoilMac-ECI is in my price range. It seems to be a newer addition to your site. Is it a good machine?

ANSWER:
Coil binding is growing in popularity and if you are binding a lot of books, you may not want to spin each individual coil by hand through punched holes. The CoilMac-ECI has a very good reputation and is a favorite among our customers. The CoilMac-ECI is a newer machine, but has been on our site long enough to be well tested.

The machine is made out of solid metal and the punching dies easily cut through paper. The insertion device is one of the easier-to-use coil inserters available. Having the electric inserter can save you a lot of time, especially in the long run. You can find the CoilMac-ECI by going here: http://www.abcoffice.com/coilmac-eci.htm?NL.
