Do You Have The Right Paper Shredder?
The fastest-growing consumer fraud is identity fraud. Identity fraud happens when a thief creates a credit clone of you using your personal information.
Identity fraud is easy for perpetrators to commit. These criminals are seldom caught and reversing the damage is oftentimes difficult.
One solution to help combat identity fraud is shredding personal and business documents. These documents can range from detailed bank and credit card information to every-day mail.
Personal information can be obtained anywhere your name, social security number, telephone number and address appear.
A would-be thief can easily retrieve junk mail, such as a credit card application, out of your garbage bin. Ripping up or cutting up cards with scissors is not thorough enough.

Strip-cut shredders require less cutting than crosscut shredders. Because less cutting is required, strip-cut shredders are able to shred more documents at a time than crosscut shredders (of the same class).
Crosscut shredders create crisscross-cut pieces of paper. These crisscross-cut pieces of paper vary in size from 3/8-inch by 3-1/8-inch to 1/32- inch by 1/2-inch.
Crosscut shredders cannot shred documents as quickly as strip-cut shredders (of the same class) due to the extra cutting involved.
Although they cannot shred documents as quickly, crosscut shredders are able to provide more security to shredded documents than a strip-cut shredder. The shredder byproduct has less volume, thus requires less emptying and trips to the dumpster.
