Top 7 Best Coin Counters & Sorters

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Coin counters and sorters are probably some of the most timesaving pieces of equipment that we sell. Manually counting coins not only takes time, but also can lead to inaccurate tabulations and wasted money paying someone to count loose change. Coin counters can do what takes a human an hour in less than 5 minutes, often faster depending on the model.

Finding a good coin counter is important. Although all coin counters and sorters ultimately do the same thing, many have different features. A few things you may want to look for are:

Coin vs. Value – It is helpful to have a counter that not only tells you the total number of coins, but the value of those coins.

Batch Counting – This allows you to specify a total number of coins or money value to count before the machine stops.

Hopper Capacity – This is how many coins your machine can hold for counting. The higher the hopper capacity, the less often you will have to re-fill the machine.

Tubing & Bagging – Many coin counters put counted coins into bins. Many people want these coins put in tubes or bags. Not all coin counters can do this. Keep an eye out for this feature if you need it.

Denominations – This is the value of the coins you are counting. Be sure your counter can handle all the coins you need to count. Most counters can handle pennies up to quarters, but not all can handle dollar coins. Some coin counters can handle tokens as well.

Here is a list of some of our most popular coin counters offered today:

Neck Lanyards, Wrist Lanyards & More For Your ID Badges & Cards

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

In a post 9/11 world, businesses and organizations are upping security more than ever. Unfortunately it is a necessary reality. An integral part of security is the ID badge or security card.

These pieces of identification are often presented at entryways, used to log in and out of work, access rooms and much more. Keeping these cards in a wallet obscures them and makes them difficult to use and access. This is where the lanyard comes into play.

Lanyards are usually designed to be attached to an ID card and be worn around the neck, although this is not always the case. Lanyards typically attach directly to the card, through a slot-punched hole, or to a badge holder with a specially designed hole or slot.

Lanyards come in a wide range of colors, shapes and designs. Many even include a breakaway design in case the lanyard becomes suck in machinery.

At ABC Office, we sell four different types of lanyards.

  • The first, and most common style is the neck lanyard.
  • The second style is the wrist lanyard, which (surprise) is worn around the wrist. Wrist lanyards usually consist of plastic coils (like a phone cord) that attach to an ID card.
  • The third type of lanyard is the key ring lanyard, which allows you to attach an ID card to your key ring. Key ring lanyards are ideal for use with smaller key cards and ID cards.
  • The fourth type of lanyard, or retainer, we sell is the eyeglass lanyard. This lanyard is not designed to hold an ID card, but rather eyeglasses and safety glasses.

Cheap & Affordable Business Card Cutters – The CardMate

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Business cards make an impression. It’s not just about the free lunch. Business cards are perfect for trade shows, meetings and much more. Did you know making business cards is actually pretty easy? It is. Simply print out your business cards, using your own printer, and cut them down to size. A great way to cut them down is by using the CardMate.

From start to finish, you can literally create several business cards in less than a minute. The CardMate makes this possible. Simply place the printed cards in the cutter and turn the handle. The machine will do the rest. Although the CardMate is manually operated, it is remarkably fast. I have used this little machine myself. It even works with card stock.

Here is a video demo of the CardMate in action:

Looking for that perfect gift for mom and dad? Christmas shopping for parents is no easy task. I find myself banging my head against the wall every year wondering what I should get my own parents.

This may sound a little unconventional, but perhaps you should consider getting them a paper shredder. Why? Paper shredders are not only great for preventing identity theft, but they are also very fun to use.

Fellowes, in particular, has a great history making paper shredders. They make a great line of paper shredders for home use. Their shredders, especially the Intellishred line, are very safe to use thanks to SafeSense technology. If fingers are detected around the mouth of the shredder, it will automatically turn off.
