Does your business or organization employ security guards that need to make specific rounds around a building or property? One of the most popular and common ways to keep tabs on these guards and ensure they are making their rounds is by using what’s commonly known as a watchman’s clock or a security guard tour system. To begin with, both the K-6300 and K-6200 systems are very affordable, easy to set up and are tamper proof. Very little set up is required. The only difference between the K-6300 and K-6200 is that the K-6300 includes a built-in LED flashlight.

First of all, stations are set up around a property or building. The K-6300 and K-6200 include 5 stations. These watchman’s stations can easily be mounted to a wall. This David-Link watchman’s system also includes watchman’s clock management software, a USB cable, battery, battery charger and a manual.

The security guard carries a baton-like reader that is very similar in size and design to a small flashlight. As the security guard makes their rounds, this reader is held up to the station. The reader syncs up with the station wirelessly and records time and date information. This data can then be pulled off and read using the included watchman’s software.

Data stored on the reader cannot be manipulated or tampered with. The reader is also capable of storing up to 7,000 events. This data is stored digitally on the reader, and even if the battery on the reader dies, that data can be stored up to 30 years. The baton reader is water resistant, temperature resistant and shock resistant.

The entire system is pretty remarkable. Considering the cost, the David-Link K-6300 and K-6200 watchman’s guard systems are a great value. If you have a security guard group you need to monitor, I personally think this is a great system to use.

I recently had a customer ask me what BRE was. Initially I was a little confused as to what they were talking about. They then went on to tell me that they were looking at a Formax inserter & envelope stuffer and saw that some of the Formax machines had a BRE feeder.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I knew what a BRE was, I just wasn’t familiar with the acronym. The abbreviation BRE stands for Business Return Envelope. As soon as I read that I thought, “oh yeah, I know exactly what that is.”

You probably know what I am talking about. BREs are those small little envelopes that often say “no postage necessary” on them, that are included in a larger envelope. BREs are often used for renewing a magazine subscription, for applying for a credit card and many, for bills and many other mailers.

Many of our Formax envelope stuffing machines have multiple feed trays. Some inserters include a tray that is a little smaller, which can be used to insert BRE envelopes and small inserts. Simply place your paper in the feed tray, along with a stack of business reply envelopes, and the Formax folder inserter will do the rest.

We’ve all been to a pharmacy to pick up a prescription. What you may have noticed over the last 10 years is that more pharmacies are implementing digital signature capture pads. Do you need to fold brochures, but don’t know exactly where to start? While you can always fold a brochure by hand, machines are available that will get the job done in literally a fraction the time.
