The P420 incorporates all the great new features introduced in the P310, including 32 bit processor, polycarbonate frame, easy to use cleaning cartridge, card thickness control lever, automatic ribbon synchronization, flash based downloading firmware, scratch free magnetic encoder option, and convenient to use and reuse packaging.
Applications for the new P420 include photo identification, employee ID badges, time and attendance cards, student ID cards, retail loyalty programs, club membership cards, access control, library cards, and security badges.
The P420's rugged, all metal enclosure houses a low-maintenance print mechanism that includes self-cleaning card handling, high capacity ribbon system, two-line LCD control panel, and convenient card reject hopper. The reject hopper separates the fail encoding prior to printing, saving valuable printer ribbon.
The enclosure includes a viewing window to monitor the printing process without opening the unit. Transparent input and output hoppers provide visual card capacity status.
The P420 is easy to load and use; the operator control panel displays printer status and functions that guide the operator, using easy to understand status and simple instructions. Printer ribbon synchronization is automatic, eliminating the need for operator intervention. A self-cleaning cartridge thoroughly removes dust before printing to help eliminate card rejects due to dust contamination.
