Carnation CR3 Mixed Bill Counter Video Demo

Thursday, October 3rd, 2013

Carnation CR3Bill counters are useful tools for any business or organization that handles or counts bills on a regular basis. One thing people don’t realize is that bill counters and mixed bill counters (found here) are very different in functionality. One type of machine only provides you with a total quantity, where the other provides you with a total value. I would like to show you one of our most popular mixed bill counters, the Carnation CR3 (found here).

As mentioned earlier, bill counters provide you with a total number of bills counted. This means if you put in 125 bills, it will tell you 125 on the screen. No value will be given. If you need the value of the bill, you need what’s known as a mixed bill counter (aka currency discriminator). These machines can provide you with the total quantity, but will also provide you with the total value, often including how many of each type of bill are in the stack.

The Carnation CR3 is by far one of our most popular mixed bill counters. This is because it is extremely accurate and affordable (considering what it does). This mixed bill counter operates much like a standard bill counter. It has a feed hopper and a stacker. You put the bills in the top of the machine and they come out the bottom. The CR3 counts bills at a speed of 500 to 1,100 per minute (variable speed).

Here is a video of the Carnation CR3 in use:

You’ll notice that the $5,000 in cash is counted multiple times. This is to prove just how accurate it is. This bill counter won’t flub up the numbers or provide slightly different results. It is extremely accurate, which is what you need in a business that handles a lot of money.

This video goes into even more detail as to the functions you’ll find in the mixed bill counter:

The CR3 includes many features you find in a standard bill counter. This includes the ability to batch count, add and more. It can even be set up to help sort the bills. This is done by the operator specifying the desired denominational value. The machine will stop when a different denomination is detected.

Who uses this bill counter? We have customers from banks, credit unions, casinos, schools, restaurants and other organizations that regularly handle money.

While the functionality and accuracy are amazing, I also really like the fact that this machine incorporates counterfeit detection into the counting process. The CR3 uses UV (ultraviolet), MG (magnetic) and IR (infrared) detection. This means the bills are scanned while the bills are counted. If a counterfeit banknote is detected, the machine will automatically stop and notify the operator.

Considering what this mixed currency counter does, it is remarkably compact. It even has a built in handle that makes it easy to pick up and move around the office. It weighs in at just over 16 pounds, which is extremely manageable.

I hope you enjoyed these videos. I think they really help convey just how nice this bill counter is. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-658-8788. You can find our entire selection of bill counters and currency discriminators here.

Cassida 85 Bill / Money Counter Video Demo

Cassida 85 Bill / Money CounterWhen it comes to handling money, counting individual bills by hand simply doesn’t make any sense. Human error alone can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars over a long period of time. It also costs money to pay someone to count money. Most businesses, banks and other organizations, that handle money on a daily basis, use bill counters like the Cassida 85. We recently got a chance to break one out of a box and film a video demo.

Once we had the box in hand we tore into it. We removed the Cassida 85 and it pretty much worked right out of the box. There was no special assembly required. I have used dozens of different bill counters over the years and this one is very similar in setup and operation.

One thing that sets the Cassida 85 apart from much of the competition is the build quality. While a lot of the shell is made from plastic, it is built on a sturdy metal frame and features a lot of metal components. Even the plastic that is used feels and looks to be of a higher grade than what you usually see.

Money can be dirty, and much of it contains trace elements of narcotics, dust and a lot of other stuff you really don’t want to inhale. The Cassida 85 uses an air filtration system that helps keep the air clean while it flies through bills. This is also extremely nice for those of you who suffer from allergies.

Here is a video demo of the Cassida 85 in action:

The Model 85 is available in three different configurations. You can buy it as a standard counter, with ultraviolet counterfeit detection capabilities (Model 85 U) and with magnetic and ultraviolet counterfeit detection (Model 85 UM).

These are all 3 versions of the Cassida 85:

With variable speed counting, the Model 85 can count bills at speeds of 900, 1200 and 1500 bills per minute. Compared to the competition, this is screaming fast. It can also batch count and has a huge hopper that can hold up to 1000 new bills or 500 used bills. Few money-counting machines have this kind of capacity.
